MORE THAN A PRINCESS PROJECT
I was assigned a class project in my junior year that wanted us to create some representing media activism. I knew this was an opportunity to design something different and out of my comfort zone.
For my project, I focused on the gendered stereotypes that Disney and its princesses perpetrate on young boys and girls. The primary goal was to: empower young kids, teach them about various professions and show that Disney princesses are two-dimensional characters with skill sets and purpose. Hence, they are more than just princesses.
