List of things I wish I knew as a First-year (Updated)

  1.  Not everyone is your friend and that's okay

  2. It's okay to take naps (naps are life)

  3. "Don't stress about the homework you have know because it's gonna get worse," said Hannah, soon to be Junior.

  4. It's okay to not be okay.

  5. It's okay to be alone.

  6. Be yourself-- even if it means wearing your onesies in public.

  7. Know your drinking limit.

  8. Don't be afraid to say yes to new things

  9. Don't be afraid to take classes outside of your comfort.

  10. Call your family often.

  11. Watch out when someone asks if you want to Netflix and chill.

  12. Keep in touch with friends from high school. They will help when times are rough.

  13. Get a job.

  14. Learn and master your studying habits early

  15. It's okay to take a break.

  16. Learn to handle stress. It will come.

  17. "There will be times where you simultaneously want to punch and hug your roommate," said Sarah, soon to be Junior.

  18. Don't spend all your money at the same time.

  19. Read books that you actually want to read.

  20. Don't be afraid of your personal growth

  21. Be kind to others because they are also going through a rough time.

  22. Make time for yourself

  23. It's okay to eat dinner alone.

  24. Have a place to escape.

  25. You can do it!
