6 Signs it's Time for a Web Redesign

April 15, 2017

It can be difficult deciding how and when to redesign your website. But having a website that is visually appealing and trendy is essential to your business. When your website looks amazing, businesses are more likely to see an increase in sale and client conversions.

You might be thinking: what I have right now is good enough. But good enough is not always enough in today's day and age. Here are six obvious signs that what you currently have is not working and that it's time for a website redesign.

  1. Your website isn't mobile responsive

Nowadays, phone screens are becoming larger and larger. As a result, people are more likely to view websites on a mobile device. If your website isn't mobile friendly, you are more likely to loose client conversion, especially among younger audiences. In some case, your website may even be penalized by Google's new algorithm. When you a website that works well with mobile devices and tablets you can see an increase in conversion rates.

If your website is not mobile-friendly, then this should be a top priority.

  2. You can’t make updates to content easily

Having a website that is stagnant can discourage clients to revisit your site. It also prevents the opportunity for a user to interact and engage with your site which also leads to decrease in conversions. However, I often see that websites lack this because it is not easy for them to make updates to their content or websites lack an easy-to-use Content Management System.

This can be easily solved with a web re-design. When you update your website you can convert your CMS to any system such as WordPress or Wix so you can easily manage and update your website, in some cases, without the added cost.

  3. Your website is difficult to navigate

One of the quickest ways to lose consumer conversions is having a website that is difficult to navigate. If a consumer visits your site and cannot easily find what they are looking for, they will probably leave and go to a different site that has the information readily available.

With a simple re-design, you could make your website easy to access and navigate.

  4. Your current design is unappealing or cluttered

Imagine you have two plates in front of you but they are exactly the same recipe. If one looks terrible and the other is nicely put together which would you choose? Most people would say they want they want the plate that looks nice. Now, think of your website like a plate your visitors consume. If your website is cluttered or unappealing then your consumers will quickly leave. But with a re-design, you can find a website that works best for your content and customers.  I like to believe that have an eye-friendly website shows you truly care about your business.

  5. Your search engine rankings are low

Having low rankings means your website is less likely to come up on the first page when searched for. Typically, consumers who are searching for a product or service only pick with comes up on the first page of their search results. IIf your website is not listed on the first page then you are losing potential customers. This is why it's important to ensure any keywords associated with your business and its services are mentioned throughout your website to obtain the highest possible ranking.

Having your website re-designed would be a great time to improve your website's SEO and outrank your competitors.

  6. You've changed or outgrown your brand
Your website should always be on brand. No, if, and's, but's about it. If your company has changed out outgrown its brand, then it is obvious: your website needs a redesign.
